Move between chains
A move between chains is an intent. Every bridge that can carry it is quoted at once and ranked by what lands and how soon, then followed from leaving to landing.
Say where, not how#
A move is an intent: from which chain, to which chain, which token, how much, and optionally the token it should land as. ftw.trade quotes every route that can carry it and picks one:
| Preference | Picks |
|---|---|
auto (default) | What lands the most among routes that land within two minutes, waiting longer only to save 5 bps or more |
cheapest | What lands the most |
fastest | What lands soonest |
You can also name one bridge.
The bridges#
- Relay carries most tokens across 50+ chains, Solana and the perps ledgers, in seconds.
- Circle CCTP carries USDC between Circle's chains: fast (about 20 seconds, about a basis point) or standard (no protocol fee, about 15 minutes from Ethereum and its rollups).
Quote, send, follow#
- Quote: every route, what each lands (and the least it may), its cost and time, and which it would pick. Nothing is sent.
- Send from each wallet. On paper it's quoted and nothing moves.
- Follow each transfer: sent, landed, failed or refunded.
The same routing runs in workflows (a bridge step), scripts (wallet.bridge(...) within the policy's bridge limit) and protocol strategies, which bridge out and home by themselves.
