# What is ftw.trade

> ftw.trade takes a trading idea all the way to a strategy running from your own wallets. Write it in plain words or Flowscript, backtest it on real history, run it on paper, then go live on any chain or venue.

ftw.trade is a platform for building, testing and running trading systems on chain. You say what to watch, how to decide and what to do. ftw.trade indexes the data, runs the decisions on its servers around the clock, and trades from wallets it holds for you: on paper until you switch a project to live.

Everything you can do on the site you can also do from your AI. Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code and Codex connect with one link and use the same tools the site's pages use.

## Get started

```cards
- [Create your account](https://docs.ftw.trade/start/account): Sign in with a wallet, a passkey, Google, X or email. Paper money is ready at once.
- [Fund your account](https://docs.ftw.trade/start/fund): Send ETH, SOL or USDC to your main wallet, or top up play money.
- [Your first strategy](https://docs.ftw.trade/start/first-strategy): Pick a starter, backtest it and run it on paper in five steps.
- [Connect your AI](https://docs.ftw.trade/agents/connect): One link in Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code or Codex.
```

## What you can build

```cards
- [Strategies](https://docs.ftw.trade/strategies/overview): Rules in Flowscript that backtest and run the same way, on pools, perps, feeds and prediction markets.
- [Sources](https://docs.ftw.trade/sources/overview): Feed in any data: pools on any chain, venues, websockets, APIs, contract events or your own service.
- [Workflows](https://docs.ftw.trade/automate/workflows): Trigger, then steps: swaps, orders, waits, perps, bridges, launches and private sends.
- [Vaults](https://docs.ftw.trade/vaults/overview): Wrap a strategy so others can invest, with fees and rules ftw.trade enforces.
- [Dashboards](https://docs.ftw.trade/projects/dashboards): Shareable pages for a strategy, a vault or a project, built by hand or by your AI.
- [Protocols](https://docs.ftw.trade/protocols/overview): Lend, borrow, earn, swap, launch and hedge on 30+ DeFi protocols from a strategy.
```

## Who it's for

- **Traders** who want their rules to run while they sleep: entries, exits, stops and sizing that never get tired or emotional.
- **Quants** who want honest backtests: the code that is tested is the code that runs, with fees, slippage, funding, holdouts and walk-forward checks.
- **Token teams and desks** who run many wallets: launches, staged buys, liquidity ranges, market making and private funding from one project.
- **Builders and AI agents** who want an execution layer: an MCP server, a CLI and a typed SDK over the same functions the site uses.

## Where it trades

| Kind | Venues |
|---|---|
| Chains | Robinhood Chain, Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Unichain and Solana |
| Perps and spot | Hyperliquid (including builder perps like stocks and gold) and Lighter |
| Prediction markets | Polymarket |
| Options | Derive |
| DeFi | Aave, Morpho, Pendle, Spark, Compound, Euler, Kamino, Ethena, Uniswap, Jupiter, Aerodrome and more |
| Launchpads | pump.fun, PumpSwap, Raydium LaunchLab, Virtuals, Zora, Clanker, Flap and Pons |

> [!NOTE] Paper first, always
> Every new project trades on paper. Paper fills are quoted at live routes and prices, so the results are realistic, but nothing is sent on chain until you switch a project to live yourself.

## How it fits together

ftw.trade is a pipeline: **sources** feed **strategies** and **workflows**, which decide on **actions**, which trade from **wallets** in a **project**. [How it works](https://docs.ftw.trade/start/how-it-works) walks through each part in a few minutes.
