# FAQ

> Quick answers to what people ask most about ftw.trade.

## Do I need to code?

No. Start from a starter strategy, change its settings, and run it, or describe what you want to the assistant and it writes the strategy, backtests it and sets it running. Flowscript is there when you want to read or change exactly what it does.

## Is my money at risk while I try things?

Not on paper. Every project starts on paper, with realistic fills and no real money. Nothing trades for real until you switch a project to live yourself, and an AI connection can't trade live until you allow it.

## Who holds the keys?

ftw.trade holds your wallets' keys in an isolated signer, sealed to your account. You can export any account wallet's key whenever you want (after a fresh sign-in). See [Security](https://docs.ftw.trade/account/security).

## Does it run when my computer is off?

Yes. Strategies, workflows, sources and scripts run on ftw.trade's servers around the clock.

## Will my live run do what the backtest did?

It runs the same compiled program on the same kind of bars, so it makes the same decisions on the same data, and it stops itself if its replay ever stops matching what it sent. Live fills can still differ from backtest fills: real slippage, a venue's minimums, latency. Run on paper for a while first and compare.

## Which chains and venues?

Robinhood Chain, Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Unichain and Solana; Hyperliquid and Lighter for perps and spot; Polymarket; Derive for options; and 30+ DeFi protocols. See [Protocols](https://docs.ftw.trade/protocols/overview).

## Can I use my own AI?

Yes: Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex and Cursor connect with one link and get every tool. See [Connect your AI](https://docs.ftw.trade/agents/connect).

## Can I bring a TradingView strategy?

Yes. Paste a Pine Script strategy and ftw.trade translates it to Flowscript and compiles it, or says which line it can't translate.

## What does it cost?

Building, backtesting and paper trading are free. Live sells pay a small platform fee, lower as your volume and level grow, and usage past the free tiers (hosted RPC, machine sources, assistant messages) is paid from credits. See [Fees, credits and limits](https://docs.ftw.trade/account/credits-and-limits).

## Can other people invest in my strategy?

Make it a vault: others subscribe at its dealings, you set its fees, and ftw.trade enforces its rules. Investors' money is paper for now. See [Vaults](https://docs.ftw.trade/vaults/overview).

## How do I stop everything?

Stop a run from the Running table (positions stay open; close them from the perps view or with close out), stop a workflow from its project, or end a project to stop everything on it at once and return its wallets.

## Where do I see what went wrong?

The [Log](https://docs.ftw.trade/account/log): every call, run and error in your account, with the reason. Flow flags anything broken.
