# Connect your AI

> Give Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex or Cursor every ftw.trade tool with one link. Your AI signs in through ftw.trade in your browser, and live trading stays off until you allow it.

ftw.trade runs an MCP server: one address that gives an AI app every tool the site's own pages use. Anything you can do on the site, your AI can do through it, checked by the same functions.

## One line

```sh
npx ftw-trade connect claude-code   # or codex, claude, chatgpt
```

It sets up the connection (and installs ftw.trade's skills for Claude Code and Codex), or prints exactly what to paste. Each app signs in through ftw.trade in your browser, so no token is copied. Add `--print` to see what it would do first.

> [!NOTE] Coming soon
> The CLI goes up on npm closer to launch. Until then, use the steps below: they need nothing installed.

## By hand

| App | How |
|---|---|
| **Claude** (web, desktop, phone) | Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, with `https://ftw.trade/api/mcp/essentials` |
| **ChatGPT** | Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings → Developer mode on, then Create, with `https://ftw.trade/api/mcp/essentials` and OAuth |
| **Claude Code** | `claude mcp add --transport http --scope user ftw-trade https://ftw.trade/api/mcp`, then `/mcp` to sign in |
| **Codex** | `codex mcp add ftw-trade --url https://ftw.trade/api/mcp/essentials`, then `codex mcp login ftw-trade` |
| **Cursor, VS Code** | Install links on the AI & API page |

## Two addresses

- **`/api/mcp`** lists every tool. For agents that load tools as they need them, like Claude Code.
- **`/api/mcp/essentials`** lists the few dozen most work needs (skills, projects, strategies, pools, orders, workflows, the log). For chat apps that put every listed tool in the model's context each turn. The rest are one step away: the AI searches for a tool, reads it and calls it with the same checks.

## Live trading is your call

When you approve the connection you choose whether it **may trade live**. Without that, anything that would send or arm a live trade is refused with a message saying where to allow it; paper, reads, stops and cancels always work. Change it any time on the AI & API page.

## Skills

ftw.trade's **skills** teach an AI how the platform works: the mental model, Flowscript, strategies, sources, workflows, wallets, protocols and dashboards. Connected apps read them through the MCP server. You can also install them as files:

- `https://ftw.trade/skills.zip`: every skill, a folder each, for `~/.claude/skills` or `~/.agents/skills`.
- `https://ftw.trade/skills/ftw-trade.zip`: all of them as one skill, for Claude's Settings → Capabilities → Skills upload.
- [`/llms.txt`](https://ftw.trade/llms.txt) indexes the skills and [`/docs/llms.txt`](https://docs.ftw.trade/llms.txt) these docs, as Markdown.

## Starting prompts

Connected apps offer ready starts from their prompt menu: **start**, **build-strategy** (an idea, and optionally a market), **design-dashboard**, and **check-account**.

## Try it

```text
Look at my ftw.trade account. What's running, is anything broken, and how did my strategies do this week?
```

```text
Find the three Hyperliquid perps with the highest funding right now, backtest a funding fade on each over 60 days, and run the best one on paper.
```
